Get Pace 0.3.20

Unzip the download and move Pace to Applications. The current preview is ad-hoc signed and not notarized, so macOS may block the first launch. If you choose to run this preview, first try opening Pace, then go to System Settings → Privacy & Security and use Open Anyway for Pace under Security. Confirm the per-app approval when macOS asks.

Updates itself. Once Pace is running, it checks the appcast feed every hour and installs new versions automatically via Sparkle. You won't need to come back to this page.

After you download

Three steps, then it's in your menu bar.

1. Unzip. Double-click Pace-0.3.20.zip. You'll get Pace.app.

2. Open it. Double-click Pace.app. If macOS blocks it, follow the Privacy & Security approval above. Once Pace opens, review its Microphone, Screen Recording, and Accessibility requests for voice, screen context, and approved actions.

3. Hold ctrl+option and talk. That's push-to-talk. Pace measures time to first spoken response on every turn and lives in your menu bar from now on — no dock icon.

This preview is not Developer ID signed or notarized. See Apple's current opening instructions for the per-app approval in Privacy & Security. The Open Anyway option is available for about an hour after an opening attempt.

Auto-update

You only download from this page once.

Pace uses Sparkle — the same auto-updater most indie Mac apps use. Once it's installed, Pace checks an appcast feed every hour. When a new version ships, it downloads, verifies the EdDSA update signature, and prompts you to relaunch. This protects Sparkle updates; it does not make the current app Developer ID signed or Apple-notarized.

If you ever want to check manually: Settings → General → "Check for updates…"
